Interested persons are invited to apply for the aforementioned position. The owner will be appointed permanently. The position is based in Bellville.
Provide legal representation to indigent defendants primarily at the district court level.
Training and supervision of Candidate Lawyers.
Perform office administration.
COMPETENCES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED
Admitted lawyer or defender (the latter must have completed satisfactory studies at an institution recognized by Legal Aid SA). Legal representation at the District Court level. Minimum of at least two (2) years of post-qualification experience or upon completion of the relevant training period (OSD pay scale levels 3 and 4). LLB degree or equivalent. Proven track record in civil defense. Valid driver's license will be an advantage. The right to appear in Superior Court is an added bonus. Communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Analytical thinking. Team player Orientation to self-development.
BASIC SALARY: R301,452.00 plus benefits per year
